The Institute has been awarded the label "Développement Durable et Responsabilité Sociétale" (DD&RS), official recognition of its environmental and societal strategy. By obtaining this label, our school confirms its determination to make the ecological and social transition a lever for innovation in training, the transformation of industrial sectors and the evolution of practices in everyday life on campus.

L'ISAE-SUPAERO obtient le label DD&RS

Engagée de longue date dans la transition environnementale et sociétale, l’ISAE-SUPAERO rejoint le cercle des grandes écoles d’ingénieurs reconnues par le label DD&RS. Une distinction qui vient couronner plusieurs années d’initiatives structurantes en matière de développement durable et de responsabilité sociétale.

Le label, qui comporte plusieurs niveaux de maturité, évalue la démarche des établissements sur cinq grands axes : gouvernance, formation, recherche, gestion environnementale et politique sociale. Ce cadre d’analyse systémique couvre l’ensemble des 17 Objectifs de Développement Durable (ODD) définis par l’ONU.

Administré par le CIRSES, le label permet aux établissements engagés d’intégrer une dynamique d’amélioration continue de mutualiser les bonnes pratiques et de valoriser leurs actions à l’échelle nationale. L’ISAE-SUPAERO rejoint ainsi une communauté d’une cinquantaine d’établissements labellisés.

Pour l’ISAE‑SUPAERO, il récompense une trajectoire cohérente et ambitieuse, amorcée avec la feuille de route « Horizons » ainsi que ses engagements en matière d’inclusion, diversité et d’ouverture sociale.

Une démarche structurée autour de la feuille de route « Horizons »

L’obtention du label s’inscrit dans la continuité du déploiement de la feuille de route « Horizons », initiée en 2021. Ce document cadre fixait les priorités de l’Institut en matière de transition écologique, qu’il s’agisse de son offre de formation, de sa recherche, de ses pratiques administratives ou de la gestion de son patrimoine. Un groupe de travail multidisciplinaire, mobilisant personnels, enseignants-chercheurs et étudiants, a été chargé du pilotage de la démarche et de la constitution du dossier de labellisation.

L’établissement s’est notamment engagé à renforcer l’intégration des enjeux environnementaux dans les cursus de ses formations, à faire évoluer les critères de soutenabilité dans ses projets de recherche et à réduire son empreinte carbone.

« Ce label acte l’engagement collectif de l’Institut — étudiants, enseignants, chercheurs, personnels — à intégrer les enjeux de durabilité dans toutes nos activités, au sein de notre campus et autour des trois piliers de notre organisation : la formation, la recherche et l’innovation. Cette démarche globale DD&RS nous permet de mettre en avant nos actions, de les poursuivre et de les renforcer, pour progresser sur tous les axes, car c’est un projet d’amélioration continue », déclare Emilie Tota, Directrice adjointe, en charge de la politique de développement durable et sociétale de l’Institut.

Des actions concrètes dans les programmes de formation et sur le campus

Côté formation, notre Institut a structuré une offre avec notamment une refonte complète de sa formation ingénieur pour répondre pleinement à ces enjeux. Intégration d’enseignements en ingénierie environnementale, analyse du cycle de vie, éco-conception, modélisation énergétique : nos parcours intègrent les dimensions sociétales et environnementales pour une ingénierie responsable, engagée et durable.

En parallèle, de nombreux travaux de recherche s’intègrent dans la matrice DD&RS avec des projets liés à la décarbonation tels que le Référentiel Aviation Climat, AéroMAPS, le projet Mermoz, Genhyo, la recherche en Multidisciplinary design optimization – MDO, etc.). L’ISAE-SUPAERO développe également des partenariats de recherche avec des industriels majeurs, tels qu’Airbus via la chaire CEDAR, Daher à travers la chaire ISAAR, et Thales avec la chaire ODYCéE, tous centrés sur les enjeux de la transition écologique et l’innovation technologique. Ces collaborations soutiennent une recherche appliquée visant à réduire l’empreinte carbone et à renforcer la durabilité dans le secteur aéronautique, en répondant aux défis techniques et environnementaux actuels.

Sur le campus, une politique active a été mise en œuvre : audit et rénovation énergétique des bâtiments, rationalisation des mobilités quotidiennes, développement de dispositifs de sensibilisation internes (fresques, ateliers, formation des primo-entrants). Gestion des déchets et alimentation durables accompagnent également ces actions.

Un engagement sociétal affirmé

Parallèlement à sa stratégie durable, l’ISAE SUPAERO poursuit son engagement social à travers le programme OSE l’ISAE‑SUPAERO, initié en 2006. Ce dispositif d’ouverture sociale — labellisé « Cordées de la Réussite » — mobilise chaque année environ 150 étudiants bénévoles pour accompagner plus de 1 100 collégiens et lycéens issus de quartiers prioritaires ou de zones rurales. Le tutorat hebdomadaire, les ateliers scientifiques, techniques et sportifs, ainsi que les journées d’immersion visent à favoriser l’orientation scolaire, renforcer les vocations scientifiques, promouvoir les carrières scientifiques auprès des jeunes filles, et soutenir la réussite des élèves en situation de handicap. Depuis 2022, le dispositif OSE InGÉ étend cet accompagnement aux élèves de classes préparatoires, avec un mentorat individuel assuré par des alumni, stages d’immersion et soutien méthodologique pour près de 91 étudiant·es, majoritairement des femmes et des élèves boursiers.

L’ISAE‑SUPAERO conduit par ailleurs une politique de tolérance zéro en matière de harcèlement, de discrimination et de violences sexistes et sexuelles (HDVS), s’appuyant sur une démarche exigeante de prévention et de traitement des actes de HDVS. Depuis 2019, un plan dédié encadre des actions de sensibilisation auprès des personnels et des apprenants. Il prévoit également un dispositif de signalement, ainsi qu’un accompagnement fondé sur l’écoute active des victimes et des témoins.

L’Institut déploie en parallèle une politique soutenue en faveur de l’égalité femmes-hommes, portée par des référents et des actions structurantes.

Il affirme également son engagement en matière d’inclusion des personnes en situation de handicap à travers, entre autres, une charte et une convention contribuant à l’accompagnement des apprenants dans leurs études et leur insertion professionnelle et la compensation de la situation de handicap au travail des personnels.

Un positionnement en cohérence avec les évolutions du secteur aéronautique

Dans un contexte de mutation accélérée de l’industrie aéronautique, la labellisation DD&RS vient consolider le positionnement de l’ISAE‑SUPAERO. En tant qu’acteur de référence dans la formation des ingénieurs du secteur, l’établissement entend conjuguer exigence scientifique et responsabilité environnementale et sociétale.

Le label DD&RS, constitue à la fois une reconnaissance institutionnelle et un cadre d’amélioration continue.

Nicolas Gourdain, professeur et chercheur au Département d'aérodynamique, d'énergétique et de propulsion de l'ISAE-SUPAERO (dans les domaines de l'aviation, du climat et de l'énergie, y compris l'atténuation et l'adaptation) et à l'Institute for Sustainable Aviation (ISA), intervient dans l'épisode n°4 dédié aux compétences et à la formation.

Intitulé « Décarboner l'aérien, vers un nouveau système de compétences », cet épisode se focalise sur les nouveaux besoins en compétences que la transition écologique de l'aéronautique va susciter, avec la montée des nouvelles filières à hydrogène, l'électrification, le développement du numérique… sur les plans industriels, de l'ingénierie et de l'analyse de données.

AeroMAPS: an ISAE-SUPAERO reference tool for exploring the possible futures of aviation

The AeroMAPS tool, developed by two ISAE-SUPAERO researchers, Scott Delbecq and Thomas Planès, can be used to assess the environmental impacts of air transport and the effectiveness or limitations of levers to decarbonize the sector! Initially designed for research and training purposes, the tool is now a multidisciplinary, open-source platform, accessible to experts as well as institutional, industrial and associative decision-makers. Its development has been integrated into the work of the Institute for Sustainable Aviation (ISA), an interdisciplinary research institute headed by Laurent Joly, whose aim is to address the issue of #aviation's ecological transition in all its complexity. By playing on the sector's transition levers, AeroMAPS users can define the scenarios whose impacts they wish to analyze. For example, the introduction of new aircraft types, the use of new fuels or the rate of growth in air traffic. AeroMAPS is the first air transport scenario exploration platform built on an open-source scientific methodology. It was initially designed and developed to enable researchers to explore air transport transition scenarios in detail. It was then rapidly integrated into training programs: first in the ISAE-SUPAERO engineering curriculum, then in continuing education programs. To facilitate use of the tool, a partnership was formed with Sopra Steria. This major tech player built the platform's new web interface to enhance the user experience and make it accessible to decision-makers. Research work recently took on a socio-economic dimension with a PhD prepared by Antoine Salgas, in partnership with TBS Education. Antoine Salgas has also created a traffic and emissions inventory in collaboration with the Dutch Delft University of Technology. These two aspects of his thesis gave rise to an AeroMAPS “satellite” tool, called AeroSCOPE, which enables analyses to be partitioned and regionalized. Today, the comprehensive, multi-disciplinary aspect of AeroMAPS is a decision-making aid for the entire #aeronautics ecosystem. Through its scientific expertise, ISAE-SUPAERO contributes to the debate and to the future of aviation.

Our Institute is accredited by the CTI:

For our Industrial Engineering speciality under apprentice status: Ingénieur ISAE-SUPAERO by apprenticeship.

The title of engineer accredited by the CTI (Commission des titres d’ingénieurs) is a guarantee that the programme will be of high quality and recognised by professionals.

The CTI is an independent body responsible for evaluating all French engineering schools (and foreign ones upon request) on their accreditation, developing the quality of education and promoting the title and profession of engineer in France and abroad.

Our General Engineering programme meets the quality criteria of the specific EUR-ACE® Framework Standards & Guidelines (EAFSG).
This label, which is also awarded by the CTI, gives ISAE-SUPAERO international recognition: engineering programmes with the EUR-ACE® label belong to schools that meet the highest standards. Once they have graduated, students from a EUR-ACE® accredited programme are guaranteed to have a range of skills and knowledge in line with European academic and professional standards.

"Bienvenue en France" Label

Our School has been awarded the “Welcome to France” label at the three-star level, the highest possible. This label, awarded by Campus France, rewards the quality of the welcome given to international students.

It is awarded to French higher education establishments that have developed welcome procedures for international students. It attests to the quality and accessibility of information, welcome procedures, the range of programmes on offer, teaching support, accommodation, the quality of campus life and post-graduate follow-up.

Our Institute is one of 153 establishments to have been awarded the “Welcome to France” label, 22% of which have been awarded at the three-star level.

Certification "Qualité Français Langue Étrangère"

Our Institute is now the first Grande École in Toulouse to be awarded the FLE label.

The aim of the label “Qualité Français Langue Étrangère” is to identify, recognise, and promote French as a Foreign Language centres whose linguistic courses and services offer guarantees of quality.

ISAE-SUPAERO has been awarded this label with three stars, the maximum possible, in the five areas of the reference system: education, teaching staff, reception, management, and premises and equipment. The label has a renewal period of four years.

This certification enables us to gain recognition for our expertise in teaching French as a foreign language and also to send a message to our international partners that, in addition to scientific excellence, we guarantee them high-quality teaching in French as a foreign language and a high-quality welcome.

SD&RS Label

The Institute has been awarded the “Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility” (SD&CSR) label, official recognition of its environmental and corporate social responsibility strategy.

This distinction crowns several years of structuring initiatives in sustainable development and social responsibility.

The label, which has many levels of maturity, assesses the institution’s approach in five main areas: governance, education, research, environmental management, and social policy. This systemic analysis framework covers all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the UN.

On 9 February, L’Étudiant published its 2023 ranking of engineering schools, which includes 169 schools. Based on academic excellence, with 28 points out of 30, the Institute ranked fourth, behind Mines Paris Tech in first place, and Ecole Polytechnique and ESPCI, which tied for second place.

Hisis will enable you to follow the many transformations that the ISAE-SUPAERO engineering school has undergone. ISAE-SUPAERO was created in October 2007 from the merger of two engineering schools in Toulouse, the École Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Constructions Aéronautiques (ENSICA) and the École Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (SUPAERO), both under the supervision of the French Ministry of Defence.

ISAE-SUPAERO is officially a Pro-Vélo Employer!

As part of its Horizons strategy, ISAE-SUPAERO is strongly committed to taking environmental issues into account, in particular by including in the COP a target of a 25% reduction (compared with the reference year 2019) in its CO2 emissions linked to its activities, of which commuting and business travel are a component. And this is reflected in a desire to encourage the transition to and use of soft mobility in general, and cycling in particular.

Our staff and students have benefited from a number of initiatives to encourage, support and promote this mode of transport:

Introduction of the Sustainable Mobility Package,
Loan of electrically-assisted bicycles for business trips,
Safety training (Remise en selle, La route vue du guidon),
Self-service bicycle repair and inflation stations on campus,
Technical inspection workshops for your bikes,
Distribution of safety kits,
Replacing “wheel-clamp” parking spaces with bicycle racks,
Participation in the AYAV Challenge (Allons-y à vélo).
Pro-Vélo Employer Objective

To promote this commitment, in 2022 the Institut launched the Objectif Employeur Pro-Vélo initiative. Following a support programme and an audit based on a set of specifications covering 5 areas (management and strategy, communication and mobilisation, services, safety and equipment), we were awarded SILVER-level certification!

This result is a real recognition of the work carried out by the various departments working under the impetus and coordination of the DDRS section of the RSQMR department to take positive action on the environment, but also on the well-being of staff. In fact, the benefits are as numerous as they are beneficial! (CO2 savings, financial savings, gains in physical and mental health, time savings, gains in autonomy and flexibility, etc.).

ISAE-SUPAERO is determined to support its staff and students in cycling to and from work, and more and more of them are doing so on an occasional or regular basis!

The quality of the facilities available on campus, a student life rich in extra-curricular projects, high employability in a sector that matches their aspirations… ISAE-SUPAERO students have nothing but praise for their school! So it’s no surprise that the Institute has been awarded the HappyAtSchool® label for the second year running.

This ChooseMyCompany label is based exclusively on the opinions of students, which are collected by means of an anonymous questionnaire.

89% of those questioned felt that their student life was rich in opportunities and extra-curricular activities (compared with 63% for the average school);
81% felt that the quality of the facilities was commensurate with their school’s ambitions (compared with 66% for the average school);
80% felt that the Institute gave them access to a professional environment that they wanted (compared with 68% for the average school);
91% believe that their diploma is recognised by employers (compared with 80% for the average school).

“The boundless wealth of community life”, “the very high standard of teachers and lecturers”, “the way in which our teachers prepare us for the world of industry” and “the rich, modern and well-equipped infrastructure” were among the advantages highlighted by individual respondents.

‘Welcome to France’: ISAE-SUPAERO accredited for the quality of its welcome to international students

Welcome to France" label

The ISAE-SUPAERO campus welcomes 40% international students every year.

To facilitate their integration and their study experience in France, the Institute sets up a number of actions throughout the year:

mentoring;
integration day;
International Week;
on-campus accommodation;
support from academic and administrative advisers;
French as a foreign language (FLE) courses;
a wide range of sports and community activities.

Campus France has rewarded these efforts by awarding the ‘Bienvenue en France’ three-star label for the second time running.

The “Bienvenue en France” label is awarded to French higher education establishments that have developed facilities to welcome international students. It attests to the quality and accessibility of information, reception facilities, the range of courses on offer, teaching support, accommodation, the quality of campus life and post-graduate support.

ISAE-SUPAERO is one of 153 establishments to have been awarded the “Welcome to France” label, and 22% of those to date have been awarded the three-star label.
