Our Institute has made a remarkable entry into the 2025 Shanghai Ranking (ARWU), placing 49th worldwide in the Aerospace Engineering category. This outstanding result rewards the academic excellence and research quality of ISAE-SUPAERO.

Our School has been awarded the “Welcome to France” label at the three-star level, the highest possible. This label, awarded by Campus France, rewards the quality of the welcome given to international students.

Certification "Qualité Français Langue Étrangère"

Our Institute is now the first Grande École in Toulouse to be awarded the FLE label.

The aim of the label “Qualité Français Langue Étrangère” is to identify, recognise, and promote French as a Foreign Language centres whose linguistic courses and services offer guarantees of quality.

ISAE-SUPAERO has been awarded this label with three stars, the maximum possible, in the five areas of the reference system: education, teaching staff, reception, management, and premises and equipment. The label has a renewal period of four years.

This certification enables us to gain recognition for our expertise in teaching French as a foreign language and also to send a message to our international partners that, in addition to scientific excellence, we guarantee them high-quality teaching in French as a foreign language and a high-quality welcome.

SD&RS Label

The Institute has been awarded the “Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility” (SD&CSR) label, official recognition of its environmental and corporate social responsibility strategy.

This distinction crowns several years of structuring initiatives in sustainable development and social responsibility.

The label, which has many levels of maturity, assesses the institution’s approach in five main areas: governance, education, research, environmental management, and social policy. This systemic analysis framework covers all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the UN.

The 6th Most Chosen School By Preparatory Class Students According to Génération Prépa (2023-2024)

ISAE-SUPAERO is ranked at least 6^th across all tracks, placing 4^th in the PSI track and 6^th in the MP track in the Génération Prépa 2023-2024 ranking of the most chosen schools by undergraduates. The Génération Prépa website is run by students from the Grandes Écoles and is aimed at students in the preparatory classes. Its rankings are based on data provided by the Service du Concours Ecoles d'Ingénieurs (SCEI) using 5 indicators: the competition in which the school is ranked, its average rank, the number of entrants, the number of places, and the number of students who have entered the school.

ISAE-SUPAERO is ranked 5^th in Figaro Étudiant's 2025 ranking of post-prépa engineering schools. Every year, Figaro Étudiant publishes its ranking of the best French post-prépa engineering schools. The characteristics and performances of 87 schools accessible after two years of preparatory classes are studied through various indicators grouped into three categories: academic, international, and employment. With a score of 16.5, our School has moved up 3 places compared to the 2024 ranking (8^th).

7th in the Ranking of Engineering Schools According to Data Analysis for University Rankings (DAUR) (2024)

This ranking is the result of a study carried out on 185 engineering schools, with a particular focus on student engineering degrees. Classified according to five harmonised criteria depending on the output sectors and the size of the establishment, the data used for each school comes mainly from SCEI statistics, Parcoursup, the CTI's annual certification campaign, and the CDEFI's professional integration survey. With a final score of 73, ISAE-SUPAERO came 7^th out of the 185 schools ranked.

Imbued with the pioneering spirit of the aerospace sector

ISAE-SUPAERO offers a range of courses designed to meet the major challenges facing our societies. And there’s no shortage of interest, as evidenced by the renewed attractiveness of its courses! With 356 new students this year, including 61 young women, the General Engineering course has confirmed its excellent level of recruitment. ISAE-SUPAERO continues to rank among the top engineering schools chosen by students leaving preparatory classes (No. 5 for all schools combined).

Start of the academic year 2024 ISAE-SUPAERO

As a sign of the excellence of the Institute’s research activities, 85 doctoral students are joining the campus this year. This figure, which is on the rise (there were 70 for the start of the 2023 academic year), brings the total number of doctoral students in ISAE-SUPAERO laboratories to 285.

The campus is also continuing to expand internationally, with 42% of students coming from 48 countries (up 2 points on the start of the 2023 academic year). They account for 91% of recruits to the Master in Aerospace Engineering (MAE), which has 31 nationalities among its recruits. With 168 students, this 100% English-speaking programme is at full capacity and continues to grow, despite very strong international competition. The 14 Advanced Masters® programmes welcomed 190 new students, the same number as last year.

Diversification of recruitment

Finally, the Institute is diversifying its recruitment. Thirteen of this year’s entrants to the General Engineering programme are university graduates. This diversity is also reflected in the attractiveness of the Industrial Engineering speciality apprenticeship programme. Launched in 2020 and deployed in three ISAE Group schools, this course is open to DUT/BUT (68% of recruitment this year) and licence (13% of recruitment) students, in addition to preparatory classes. For the start of the new academic year, 74 new students will be enrolled (20% of them women), including 30 on the ISAE-SUPAERO campus alone.

Figures for 2024

The ISAE-SUPAERO campus welcomes nearly 1,930 students this year:

1,040 in the General Engineering programme (including 356 new students);
96 in the Advanced Engineering apprenticeship programme (30 new students);
315 in the Master in Aerospace Engineering programme, including 168 new students (91% of them international);
190 on all 14 Advanced Masters® programmes;
285 PhD students, including 85 recruited this year.

Graduates: three-quarters of students find a job before completing their studies

ISAE-SUPAERO’s training programmes ensure that young graduates find exceptional employment, in line with their expectations.

According to the Institute’s 2024 “First Job” survey, 74.5% of graduates from all courses found a job even before graduation, and 88% said they were “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with their first job. The Aeronautics/Space/Defence (ASD) sector, driven by strong growth momentum and engaged in an exceptional period of transformation, attracted 70% of our young 2023 graduates, all courses taken together. This was followed by the ecological transition (6%) and energy (5%).

From classroom to cockpit: flying activities at ISAE-SUPAERO

Take a video tour of the school's Lasbordes Air Operations Center (COAL). With a fleet of 9 light aircraft, the COAL offers 3 types of activities: - Pilot training to obtain the Private Pilot's License (PPL), which enables students to fly single-engine aircraft. - Practical work directly linked to the school's teaching programs, from flight mechanics to an introduction to flight test techniques for continuing education. - Research into human factors and pilot cognitive mechanisms in real time during flight. At ISAE-SUPAERO, engineering and Master's students are lucky enough to be able to take their pilot's license just a few kilometers from the campus. Several instructors accompany them and train them to fly. All are members of the Aerospace Vehicle Design and Operation Research Department, headed by Valérie Budinger.

ISAE-SUPAERO and Airbus Defence and Space organize an international training course on space systems

Twenty engineers from the Peruvian space agency CONIDA (Comisión Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo Aeroespacial) attended a training course in Toulouse designed jointly by ISAE-SUPAERO and Airbus Defence and Space! The aim? To develop their skills in space systems and space missions. The entire program was placed under the academic responsibility of AnnaFederica Urbano, a lecturer and researcher in space systems and launchers at ISAE-SUPAERO. The engineers took part in a preliminary satellite design project. At the end of the five-week course, they all obtained the Certificate of Advanced Studies awarded by ISAE-SUPAERO. For ISAE-SUPAERO and Airbus Defence and Space, this experience opens up prospects for future collaborations in training courses of this type for international customers and industrial and institutional partners. The Advanced Master® HADA - Helicopter, Aircraft, and Drone Architecture from ISAE-SUPAERO

In an increasingly competitive international environment, the Institute has maintained the excellent level of employability of its alumni, demonstrating the renewed quality of its engineering courses.

With one place up on last year, for a ranking of 179 out of 20,966, the school has confirmed its ability to train the best engineers, who will be instrumental in building the world of tomorrow. Engineers capable of solving the major challenges facing our society and making a positive commitment to the future. Graduates capable of meeting the needs of companies, as shown by the figures from the 1st job survey carried out every year by the Institute’s Corporate Relations department among its alumni.

Employment figures

Administered to 628 graduates in 2022, and with an average response rate of 82.5%, these results highlight the career opportunities available to our Engineering, Master of Science and Advanced Masters® graduates!

For engineering courses

79% found a job before graduating & 90% are satisfied or very satisfied with their first job.

Of the graduating class of 2022 :

76% are employed by a company;
15% are doing a thesis.

For the Master of Science course

72% found a job before graduating & 88% are satisfied or very satisfied with their first job.

Of the graduating class of 2022 :

90% are employed by a company;

7th place for ISAE-SUPAERO

An AAA rating for ISAE-SUPAERO, which is well placed in the DAUR ranking of engineering schools for 2023! With a final score of 73, the Institute is ranked joint 7th with ENSAE Paris and Télécom Paris, two places up on the 2022 ranking. It is also the leading engineering school in the ranking outside the Paris region!

A rigorous methodology

DAUR (Data Analysis for University Rankings), an independent benchmarking platform for higher education in France, has been publishing rankings of 185 French engineering schools since 2019. It uses a robust scientific methodology, based on relevant criteria and statistical algorithms designed to eliminate bias. The data used comes mainly from SCEI statistics, Parcoursup, the CTI’s annual certification campaign and the CDEFI’s professional integration survey.

The schools are classified according to 5 criteria, harmonised according to the output sectors and the size of the establishment:

Selectivity: the school’s average level of student selection;
Employability: the value of the degree in the eyes of companies in the school’s target sectors;
Research: students’ interest in research when they leave the school;
International: the intensity of contact between students throughout their international career;
Alumni: the proportion of students from the last fifty years who have achieved the highest level of academic, professional, entrepreneurial or political success.

This ranking, considered to be the most prestigious in the world, was prepared by a team of experts led by Professor John Ioannidis, eminent professor at Stanford University.

Of the 8 million scientists considered to be active in the world, in 22 fields and 176 sub-fields, only 2% appear in this ranking. The study is based on the Scopus database, which provides standardised information on citations, the h-index, the hm-index adjusted for co-authorship, citations of articles in different author positions and a composite indicator.

This database was created to provide an up-to-date analysis and a public list of the best scientists. Eight ISAE-SUPAERO teacher-researchers feature in this ranking, highlighting the quality of the school’s scientific research:

Olivier Besson: his research activities are in the field of statistical processing of signals and networks, mainly the formation of robust adaptive beams, adaptive detection and estimation, with main applications in the field of radar;

Christophe Bouvet (Institut Clément Ader – ISAE-SUPAERO): his research activities are in the field of Mechanics of Aeronautical Structures and Materials, and in particular the Dimensioning of Composite Structures;

In 2022, the team published a ranking that reflects students’ actual choices as closely as possible, based on data from the Service de Concours Ecoles d’Ingénieurs (SCEI), which compiles admission statistics for all engineering entrance exams for all streams. To establish the score for each school, Génération prépa has based itself on 5 factors:
