ISAE-SUPAERO launches its Student Life Master Plan for 2026–2031

Publication Date

14 January 2026

Category

Institute

Having a rich, fulfilling, and globally minded student life is part of ISAE-SUPAERO's DNA. To further enhance this experience, the Institute has now adopted a Student Life Master Plan (SDVE) for the period 2026-2031, a unique roadmap that embodies its strategic vision and supports its ambition: to offer an attractive, inclusive living environment that is conducive to the success of every student.

Four main themes

The result of a wide-ranging participatory process involving students, staff and partners, the SDVE is based on four main themes:

  • Living on a pleasant and inclusive campus
  • Enjoying student life in complete safety
  • Getting involved in school life by being supported and valued
  • Interacting with the ecosystem to better invest in the future

This plan marks a turning point in the way the Institut thinks about campus life, student life and community life: from now on, these dimensions will be built together, coordinated and aligned around common objectives. It strengthens existing initiatives, encourages synergies and guides new innovative projects to enhance attractiveness and well-being.

Supported by the General Management and the Deputy Management in charge of student life, the SDVE will form a long-term part of the next Objectives and Performance Contract (2027-2031). Based on an analysis of students’ experiences, studies carried out (including Happy@School) and signals from the ecosystem, it is intended to evolve regularly in order to remain as close as possible to expectations.

A strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility

This master plan is part of ISAE-SUPAERO’s commitment to society and the environment. It is a response to the various CSR initiatives undertaken in areas such as training, research, innovation and campus life.

In addition, the Institute applies a zero-tolerance policy to acts of harassment, discrimination and sexual and gender-based violence, with numerous initiatives to prevent and deal with such acts.

3 questions to Marie Delaroche, 3ᵉ year student and MDRS 293 crew commander

Since February 18, seven ISAE-SUPAERO engineering students have been living a simulated Martian life and carrying out experiments in collaboration with CNES and several research laboratories at The Mars Society's Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in UTAH (USA)! For the second time, the mission is led by a woman: Marie Delaroche, a passionate #spaceexplorer, who was already part of crew 275 departing in 2023. We asked her 3 questions to find out more about the challenges of this mission and her feelings as #flightcommander! Alongside her, three young women and three young men in their 2ᵉ year of #engineering studies have taken on the roles of astronomer, scientist, botanist, journalist, health worker and onboard engineer. They are all members of the Mars Club ISAE-SUPAERO, a student association for the popularization of science focused on the Red Planet and the missions dedicated to its exploration and study. They are currently experimenting with AI4U, the artificial intelligence that assists astronauts in their daily tasks (environmental measurements, voice recognition, emergency exercises). They are also conducting a science popularization experiment in collaboration with secondary school pupils. Inspired by the film The Martian, in which an astronaut grows potatoes on the Red Planet, the aim of this experiment is to compare plant growth in Martian soil with growth in terrestrial soil!

Student Life Highlights

Clubs and Associations

At ISAE-SUPAERO, all passions can coexist!

Student associations, such as the student, arts, and sports associationsJunior Entreprise, Raid ISAE, the EAG and Airexpo, to name but a few, are real driving forces behind this dynamic.

These groups foster creativity, civic engagement, and the emergence of innovative projects, while reflecting the fundamental values of our Institute.

The Students' Association

The Student Association (SA) is mainly made up of technical clubs and clubs dedicated to student initiatives (humanitarian or entrepreneurship projects, and more).

Some clubs operate independently in terms of size and budget, such as the gala, Airexpo, or Supaero Junior Conseil, the Institute's Junior Entreprise.

The Arts Association

The Arts Association (AA) brings together clubs focusing on the performing arts, audiovisuals, music, crafting activities, and the culinary arts.

The ISAE-SUPAERO AA offers a multitude of opportunities to express your passions or discover new ones!

The Sports Association

The Sports association (AS) brings together all the clubs involved in team or individual sports (football, handball, swimming, etc.), as well as more extreme sports (surfing, sailing, canyoning, etc.) and aeronautical sports (gliding, parachuting, microlighting, etc.)!

Aeronautical Activities

The ISAE-SUPAERO flight operations centre, located at Lasbordes Aerodrome, has a fleet of 8 light aircraft for teaching and research in the fields of flight mechanics and neuroergonomics.

1 Vulcanair P68, 3 Robin DR 400 and 4 Aquila are available to provide in-flight teaching services for students and continuing education courses (discovery of the aerial environment, illustration of lessons, practical work, introductory research projects, human factors, etc.).

The Institute encourages students to learn to fly by helping them to obtain licences and certificates in various disciplines (powered flight, gliding, parachuting, paragliding, ULM, etc.).

ISAE-SUPAERO provides in-house training in powered flight, an optional teaching module integrated into the engineering and masters courses. Approximately 35 students enroll in the flight training course each year.

Other activities are outsourced to specialist external organisations via the student association.

Students can also take part in aeronautical activities such as the manufacture of micro-drones or model aircraft.
