Our Institute is committed to a quality approach, covering both our programmes and our organisation. As a result, ISAE-SUPAERO has numerous labels, accreditations and certifications, demonstrating that our teaching and structures are adapted to the expectations of our future students and recruiters.

CTI Accreditation

"Commission des Titres d'Ingénieurs" (Engineering Qualifications Commission)

Our Institute is accredited by the CTI:

For our General Engineering course under student status: Ingénieur ISAE-SUPAERO;
For our Industrial Engineering speciality under apprentice status: Ingénieur ISAE-SUPAERO by apprenticeship.

The title of engineer accredited by the CTI (Commission des titres d’ingénieurs) is a guarantee that the programme will be of high quality and recognised by professionals.

The CTI is an independent body responsible for evaluating all French engineering schools (and foreign ones upon request) on their accreditation, developing the quality of education and promoting the title and profession of engineer in France and abroad.

EUR-ACE® label

"Commission des Titres d'Ingénieurs" (Engineering Qualifications Commission)

Our General Engineering programme meets the quality criteria of the specific EUR-ACE® Framework Standards & Guidelines (EAFSG).
This label, which is also awarded by the CTI, gives ISAE-SUPAERO international recognition: engineering programmes with the EUR-ACE® label belong to schools that meet the highest standards. Once they have graduated, students from a EUR-ACE® accredited programme are guaranteed to have a range of skills and knowledge in line with European academic and professional standards.

Our Institute is accredited by the CGE for:

Our Advanced Master’s programmes: our Advanced Master’s programmes evolve each year in line with demand from companies. The strong involvement of professionals in our teaching and the requirement to carry out at least four months of work experience in a company during the programme give our graduates the added value of a highly professional education; and
Our 4DIGITAL label: this label enables Grandes Écoles to recognise and promote their mastery of digital technology, particularly for teaching and distance learning, both in France and abroad.

Our Institute has obtained QUALIOPI certification for the past 4 years, for our educational activities and for our activities enabling people to validate their acquired experience.

QUALIOPI is a unique quality certification issued by independent certifiers, enabling the use of public or mutualised funds. This certification is the mark of quality guarantee for PACs, providers of actions contributing to the development of skills within the framework of education, skills assessments, actions enabling the validation of acquired experience, and apprenticeship training actions.

"Bienvenue en France" Label

Our School has been awarded the “Welcome to France” label at the three-star level, the highest possible. This label, awarded by Campus France, rewards the quality of the welcome given to international students.

It is awarded to French higher education establishments that have developed welcome procedures for international students. It attests to the quality and accessibility of information, welcome procedures, the range of programmes on offer, teaching support, accommodation, the quality of campus life and post-graduate follow-up.

Our Institute is one of 153 establishments to have been awarded the “Welcome to France” label, 22% of which have been awarded at the three-star level.

Certification "Qualité Français Langue Étrangère"

Our Institute is now the first Grande École in Toulouse to be awarded the FLE label.

The aim of the label “Qualité Français Langue Étrangère” is to identify, recognise, and promote French as a Foreign Language centres whose linguistic courses and services offer guarantees of quality.

ISAE-SUPAERO has been awarded this label with three stars, the maximum possible, in the five areas of the reference system: education, teaching staff, reception, management, and premises and equipment. The label has a renewal period of four years.

This certification enables us to gain recognition for our expertise in teaching French as a foreign language and also to send a message to our international partners that, in addition to scientific excellence, we guarantee them high-quality teaching in French as a foreign language and a high-quality welcome.

SD&RS Label

The Institute has been awarded the “Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility” (SD&CSR) label, official recognition of its environmental and corporate social responsibility strategy.

This distinction crowns several years of structuring initiatives in sustainable development and social responsibility.

The label, which has many levels of maturity, assesses the institution’s approach in five main areas: governance, education, research, environmental management, and social policy. This systemic analysis framework covers all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the UN.

49th in the 2025 Shanghai Ranking (ARWU) for Aerospace Engineering

The Shanghai Ranking is internationally recognized for the rigor of its methodology, which relies primarily on the objective evaluation of scientific output (volume, quality, and impact) and international visibility.

ISAE-SUPAERO’s 49th place highlights the quality and intensity of the research conducted within our School.

This result is driven by several key indicators in which our Institute achieved particularly strong performance in 2025:

the volume and quality of scientific publications in top-tier (A-rank) journals;
academic impact (number of citations by peers);
international collaboration in research projects.

The 6th Most Chosen School By Preparatory Class Students According to Génération Prépa (2023-2024)

ISAE-SUPAERO is ranked at least 6^th across all tracks, placing 4^th in the PSI track and 6^th in the MP track in the Génération Prépa 2023-2024 ranking of the most chosen schools by undergraduates. The Génération Prépa website is run by students from the Grandes Écoles and is aimed at students in the preparatory classes. Its rankings are based on data provided by the Service du Concours Ecoles d'Ingénieurs (SCEI) using 5 indicators: the competition in which the school is ranked, its average rank, the number of entrants, the number of places, and the number of students who have entered the school.

5th in the Figaro Étudiant 2025 Ranking of Post-Prépa Engineering Schools (2025)

ISAE-SUPAERO is ranked 5^th in Figaro Étudiant's 2025 ranking of post-prépa engineering schools. Every year, Figaro Étudiant publishes its ranking of the best French post-prépa engineering schools. The characteristics and performances of 87 schools accessible after two years of preparatory classes are studied through various indicators grouped into three categories: academic, international, and employment. With a score of 16.5, our School has moved up 3 places compared to the 2024 ranking (8^th).

7th in the Ranking of Engineering Schools According to Data Analysis for University Rankings (DAUR) (2025)

This ranking is the result of a study carried out on 185 engineering schools, with a particular focus on student engineering degrees. Classified according to five harmonised criteria depending on the output sectors and the size of the establishment, the data used for each school comes mainly from SCEI statistics, Parcoursup, the CTI's annual certification campaign, and the CDEFI's professional integration survey. With a final score of 81, ISAE-SUPAERO came 7^th out of the 185 schools ranked.

With a 4-star rating, the Institute is one of the best post-prépa engineering schools in the Challenges ranking. The number of stars is awarded on the basis of a number of criteria, including the salary levels of graduates and the proportion of foreign students in each year's intake, reflecting the school's international appeal. Founded: October 1^st, 2007 as a result of the merger between ENSICA and SUPAERO

Our Functions and Statutory Bodies

Our Board of Directors determines the general guidelines for the Institute's education, research, scientific and technical information, and external cooperation policies. It is made up of representatives of the State, members from outside the institution, and members representing the staff and students of our Institute. It has 27 members.

Marwan Lahoud, Chairman of the Board of Directors

Our Chairman of the Board of Directors is chosen from qualified Board members. He is appointed by decree for a period of three years, renewable twice.

Marwan Lahoud was appointed Chairman of the ISAE-SUPAERO Board of Directors on August 28^th, 2023. A weapons engineer, Mr. Lahoud is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (SUPAERO). Mr. Lahoud was Chairman and CEO of MBDA from 2003 to 2007. After this role, he was Executive Vice President Strategy and International at Airbus from 2007 to 2017. He was then Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Tikehau Investment Management and Chairman of Tikehau Capital's Private Equity business, where he dealt in particular with cybersecurity and aerospace strategies. In 2024, Mr. Lahoud joined the investment bank Messier et Associés. Mr. Lahoud is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques (IHES), a member of the Steering Committee of the Institut Montaigne, and Honorary Chairman of GIFAS (Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales).

Our Consultative Bodies

Our Education Council relies on the advice of our development councils for engineering education cycles and associated complementary education, as well as for international Master's and Advanced Master's programmes.

For other programmes (initial, continuing, apprenticeship, etc.) to which our Institute contributes without being solely responsible, our ISAE-SUPAERO Education Council relies as necessary on the opinions of the professional development councils or similar bodies set up by the accrediting institution, or jointly by the partners in the programme concerned.

Our Development Boards are chaired by the Director of Education or their representative.

Each development committee is led by the programme head for the course for which they are responsible.

Our Development Councils are convened by the Chairman as often as required for the smooth running of the Institute and at least once a year.

In addition to the Institute staff responsible for the academic management of the various programmes concerned, their membership includes:

qualified persons representing industry, academia, and international circles, appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Dean of Academics; and
student delegates representing the various classes and categories of students, appointed by the students themselves.

Our Councils are not elected and do not take formal votes. Their work, the advice they receive, and any recommendations they make are set out in minutes drawn up under the responsibility of the Chair and approved at the following meeting. They are reported to the Education Council.

Each Development Committee, for the programmes within its jurisdiction, gives its opinion on:

changes to teaching programmes, the range of programmes offered, and the possibilities for career paths;

proposed changes to tuition regulations, where applicable; and

academic partnerships and exchange agreements (with or without qualifications) relating to a course of study.

It examines the reports and recommendations resulting from audits and from the processes of authorisation, accreditation, or awarding of labels (CTI, HCERES, CGE, etc.) and is consulted on the proposed follow-up.

Our Innovation Council is a non-statutory consultative body. The Innovation Council is a forum for exchange and forward thinking, partly made up of outside figures in the field of innovation. Its purpose is to inform and guide the Institute's actions in this area.

No, that's a joke! What does he like best about ISAE-SUPAERO? The combination of having a healthy lifestyle while studying hard.
