ISAE-SUPAERO & the Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology work on student space exploration projects
We received the visit of Professor Shine S R from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) on December 7 and 8. ISAE-SUPAERO signed in 2020 a co #cooperation agreement with the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, and this visit was a perfect opportunity to discuss the deepening of collaborations in #training and #research between our two institutions.
ISAE-SUPAERO and IIST have already been cooperating for 4 years in the framework of Franco-Indian collaborative academic projects, involving ISAE-SUPAERO and IIST students on subjects related to space exploration missions and with the participation of experts from CNES, IRAP and the Indian space agency (ISRO)!

ISAE-SUPAERO & Airbus Defence and Space carried out an international training in space systems
The aim? To develop their skills in space systems and space missions. The entire program was placed under the academic responsibility of AnnaFederica Urbano, a teacher-researcher in space systems and launchers at ISAE-SUPAERO.
The engineers took part in a preliminary satellite design project. At the end of these five weeks, they all obtained the Certificate of Advanced Studies awarded by ISAE-SUPAERO.
For ISAE-SUPAERO and Airbus Defense and Space, this experience opens up prospects for future collaborations in training of this type for international industrial and institutional customers and partners.

Visiting professors at ISAE-SUPAERO : DAN SCHEERES
Therefore, many international key players in research visit their conterparts at ISAE-SUPAERO.
We have met Dan Sheeres a University of Colorado Distinguished Professor and the A. Richard Seebass Chair in the Ann and H.J. Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Dan Scheeres’ research spans the topics of astrodynamics and spacecraft navigation to planetary science and celestial mechanics, and has published extensively in these
fields. Asteroid 8887 is named “Scheeres” in recognition of his contributions to the scientific understanding of the dynamical environment about asteroids.
During his time at ISAE-SUPAERO, Prof. Scheeres and the Space Systems for Planetary Applications team collaborated on analyses of DART data and the development of concepts to probe the internal structure of asteroids during future space missions.
Moreover, Dan Scheeres and ISAE-SUPAERO have jointly published several articles in “Nature” about asteroids and the DART mission.
