Incubation at ISAE-SUPAERO

Our incubator

Thanks to its innovation drive, since 2023 ISAE-SUPAERO has been a member of RéSO IP+ (RésO Incubateurs Pépinières +), the network of incubators and nurseries in the Occitanie region that brings together support and accommodation structures for high-potential business creators.

The Institute now has privileged access to all RéSO IP+ events, to the sharing of best practice and to the expertise required to support start-ups.

In recent years, ISAE-SUPAERO has developed a range of services and comprehensive support for its project leaders, which has earned it the title of incubator.

Start-ups incubated within Innvospace benefit from the accommodation and incubation space located on the first floor of the building, which can currently house eleven start-ups. This incubation area is strictly reserved for them.

Our FabLab

InnovSpace: a place for creativity, meetings and exchanges

Located at the heart of the ISAE-SUPAERO campus,InnovSpace is both a fablab and an incubator.

Its aim is to encourage innovation within the school in a collaborative spirit!

With its 800 m² of workshops, open spaces, meeting rooms and offices,InnovSpace fosterstechnological innovation and supports students and staff in all types of projects andentrepreneurial ventures.

The workspace is equipped with a wide range of facilities and is a place of exchange, creativity and innovation for everyone on campus.

The incubator has the capacity to house up to 11 start-ups by 2025 and its ambition is to be able to support up to 20 start-ups a year. Two permanent Fablab managers are on hand to help project leaders develop their skills and actively contribute to the prototyping of DeepTech start-ups.

The ambition of our Fablab

The aim of the InnovSpace Fablab is to provide users with the machines, software and skills they need to create prototypes and bring their projects to fruition. The aim is to give users (teachers and students at ISAE-SUPAERO) theopportunity to build things themselves and to develop their skills.

It hosts a variety of events: initiations, creativity workshops, technical training, project reviews, etc. offered in-house or by partners.

Since 2022, InnovSpace has also been an incubator for start-up companies from ISAE-SUPAERO.

The business model for the incubator part of InnovSpace does not depend on returns from the sale of shares in incubated start-ups. It is based on public funding and private contributions. InnovSpace has been designed as a service offering for ISAE-SUPAERO start-ups and spin-offs in order to create an entrepreneurial dynamic within the Institute.

The InnovSpace offer

InnovSpace comprises two separate areas:

  • The prototyping area or Fablab, comprising :
    • workshops for 3D printing and design, vinyl cutting, laser cutting, hot-wire cutting, digital embroidery, carpentry, video, electronics, sewing and concurrent engineering;
    • spaces for creativity, collective intelligence, work, study and exhibition;
    • a digital laboratory including an AR/VR (augmented reality/virtual reality) space, a concurrent engineering space and a video studio;
    • an outdoor storage area,
  • A space for hosting and incubating projects and start-ups.

The InnovSpace is responsible for initiating entrepreneurial projects from ISAE-SUPAERO (students, teachers and alumni), primarily in the field of Deep Tech. Its aim is to be a high-impact deep-tech incubator.

It offers a full range of services for innovative projects: from the creativity phase to the creation of a company, including the design and prototyping of the first versions of products.

Three full-time staff work alongside InnovSpace users to manage the Fablab and support entrepreneurial projects. Support for entrepreneurial projects is provided by three members of staff, backed up by a wide range of specialist consultants and temporary staff.

François du Cluzel

The aim of the SIE and InnovSpace is to enable the Institute's staff and the start-ups that emerge from it to develop their skills. For these start-ups, this means approaching markets and developing technological maturity, from seed stage to prototyping, benefiting in particular from the Institute's human and technological environment!

Four great names embody our Agora

The ISAE-SUPAERO Foundation supported the initiative of three ambassadors who were keen to call on alumni, former directors and executives of the Safran Group to make a collective donation to inscribe in the Agora space the names of four great engineers who have marked the history of the Group and of aeronautics:

  • Pierre Faurre,
  • Jean-Louis Gérondeau,
  • René Ravaud,
  • Joseph Szydlowski.

This unprecedented initiative raised €102,000 from 100 donors, and is the very first naming operation on campus!

The "Lanceurs d'étoiles" startup support programme

Discover the “Lanceur d'étoiles” startup support program! Born of the association of thirteen national and regional partners, experts in DSA and Deeptech startup creation (academic institutions, national organizations, SATT, regional incubators and gas pedals) and brought together in a consortium, “Lanceur d'étoiles” aims to guide and help project leaders propel their innovative technologies through value-creating startups. The program is led and coordinated by Toulouse Tech Transfer on behalf of its partners, under the impetus of the University of Toulouse. It is supported by the PUI UT Innovation, one of whose key actions is to stimulate the creation of deeptech startups through tailor-made support for project leaders. Entrepreneurship and Innovation at ISAE-SUPAERO

“Who wants to be my partner?” at the ISAE-SUPAERO Aérothèque! In the spirit of the M6 TV show, Romain Buquet, Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the team from ISAE-SUPAERO's #innovation and #entrepreneurship department organized a first-of-its-kind #businessentrepreneurial event: ⇾ eight “Made in ISAE-SUPAERO” entrepreneurs had the opportunity to pitch their project to a panel of investors: talented Business Angel Stéphanie Delestre (Volubile), Lucie Baillif (Baillif), Pierre Carli (Capitole Angels), Jean-Michel Darroy (Aerospace Angels) and Emma Ribes (IRDI Capital Investissement). To prepare for the exercise, our entrepreneurs had the opportunity to be trained on the mechanics of fund-raising by Aram Attar, the coach of the successful show. With some valuable and benevolent advice: "I have three values in mind that have carried me along: hard work, audacity and courage. If you can do all that, you'll be the best entrepreneurs and the best innovators. So don't give up, because the entrepreneurial life is really worth it!" - Stéphanie Delestre "The only limit is, don't go too far & take care of your psychological well-being" - Aram Attar The start-ups VIRAJ H2, ELDA Technology, TIDAV Aero, EMBRYA, SOLTEO, Nelson Mobility & Allergenius are passionately driven by ISAE-SUPAERO students and researchers in various fields, including low-carbon aviation, snow management in ski resorts, solutions for solar panel installers and electrification of corporate fleets.
