A strategic partnership with Georgia Tech School of Aerospace Engineering
Available online :
In November 2016, Georgia Tech and ISAE-SUPAERO signed a strategic French-American partnership agreement in the field of aerospace engineering teaching and research.
Extremely ambitious in scope, the agreement is the fruit of longstanding cooperation in higher education between the two leading institutions on either side of the Atlantic. This cooperation is reflected in the many successful student exchanges already completed and the mutual respect and trust at the highest level of both institutions.
The School of Aerospace Engineering of the University Georgia Tech is one of the most renowned aeronautics and space engineering schools in the United States and is number one at the graduate level (Masters and Doctoral level) in terms of number of students.
The partnership will help expand exchanges for both degree and non-degree seeking students between the two institutions at the graduate and undergraduate level and shall help make it easier for students to obtain grants covering tuition.
In addition, four fields of cooperation have been identified in terms of research: more electric aircraft, the helicopter, new propulsion concepts and space systems. Exchanges of faculty and researchers, as well as co-supervision of theses are also planned within the framework of the agreement.
Finally, the two institutions have planned to jointly organize seminars and symposiums on common subjects such as innovation and entrepreneurship.
In 2015 and 2016 a Georgia Tech faculty delegation visited Toulouse. and in the coming weeks, an ISAE SUPAERO delegation shall visit Atlanta to define the action program for 2017 and 2018.
