For over 100 years, ISAE-SUPAERO has supported the development of the aerospace industry by educating engineers to the highest scientific and technical standards.

Forerunners and inventors, our SUPAERO engineers are behind many technological innovations in the aeronautics and space sectors. Their excellence, recognised throughout the industry, contributes to the international reputation of our School.

Our mission is clearly stated in our raison d'être: "To educate high-level scientific, humanistic, and innovative engineers in aerospace who are capable of mastering the complex challenges of tomorrow's world ."

Our Governance

The Institut Supérieur de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace is a public scientific, cultural and professional establishment under the supervision of the Minister for the Armed Forces, constituted as a grand établissement within the meaning of article L. 717-1 of the French Education Code. Our Institute is administered by a Board of Directors and managed by a President, assisted by a Training Council and a Research Council. Our governance bodies at ISAE-SUPAERO give pride of place to representatives of industry, academic institutions and alumni.

An Illustrated History of our School

Hisis will enable you to follow the many transformations that the ISAE-SUPAERO engineering school has undergone. ISAE-SUPAERO was created in October 2007 from the merger of two engineering schools in Toulouse, the École Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Constructions Aéronautiques (ENSICA) and the École Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (SUPAERO), both under the supervision of the French Ministry of Defence.

Women's Campus Day 2026 “Inspiring younger generations and young girls”: astronaut Sophie Adenot's commitment continues

The first edition of ISAE-SUPAERO's “Campus au féminin” days in 2016, attended by astronaut Sophie Adenot, a graduate of the school, was met with great enthusiasm by middle and high school girls. Valentine, 23, Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering student

We have students from all over the world, and they all have unique and different experiences on campus. Valentine is 23 and comes from both France and the USA! She is studying in the Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering at ISAE-SUPAERO, specializing in aerospace systems and control. In case you didn't know, our Master of Science is internationally recognized as an innovative science and technology program! One of our main advantages is our close link with the #aerospace industry, as Valentine mentioned! Many of the research projects carried out on campus are directly linked to our industrial partners and offer great opportunities for our students. Two Master's students will participate in the world's most prestigious robotics conference

Krishna Murali and Elena Ponce Moreno are second-year students in the Master of Aerospace Engineering programme at ISAE-SUPAERO. They are conducting research on the Mavion, a drone developed at the Institute that takes off vertically and can then fly like an aeroplane.

Laurent Michel appointed programme director of the General Engineering programme at ISAE-SUPAERO

Since the start of the 2024-2025 academic year, Laurent Michel has been responsible for the smooth running of the General Engineering programme. • He will also be involved in developing the programme in line with the skills-based approach. • A professor of structural and materials mechanics, he has been head of the Structural and Materials Mechanics Department (DMSM) at ISAE-SUPAERO for the past five years.
