SSPA research team

At ISAE SUPAERO, the Department of Electronics, Optronics and Signal Processing (DEOS) develops skills in signal processing, information processing, and data analysis. In both teaching and research, the DEOS focuses on the entire information processing chain. This includes sensor and instrument design, signal implementation and transmission, data analysis and using data in advanced aeronautics and space application frameworks.

The "Space Systems for Planetary Applications" (SSPA) research team is primarily focussed on the development of space missions and the associated technologies for the geophysical exploration of the Solar System.

The research performed by the SSPA research team falls into two main themes:

  • the study of the internal structure and physical properties of telluric planets and small bodies of our Solar System
  • the study of solid/atmosphere coupling of planets

For both of these themes, the team’s activities are separated into (1) the preparation of space missions including the design and development of future space instrumentation, and (2) the analysis of data from past or current missions.
