Context

Following the international symposium organized by the Academy of Air and Space in March 2021 on "Air Transport in Crisis and Climate Challenge", and following the release of the ISAE-SUPAERO’s "Aviation and Climate" referential, the purpose of this event is to present the analyses of each of the organizations in order to enable the development of informed opinions on the following questions:

  • What are the CO2 and non-CO2 effects of aviation on the climate? What is the correlation between air traffic growth and climate impact?
  • The different technological or operational avenues for improvement, their feasibility, acceptability and possible timeframes
  • The political strategies necessary at the national and international level (knowing that a trade-off is necessary between the level of traffic and the share of the global carbon budget allocated to the aviation sector)
