SIMULATION OF LIFE ON MARS FOR OUR STUDENTS
For several years now, a team of students has been selected by the American association “The Mars Society” to take part in a simulation of life on Mars. The aim is to develop scientific knowledge to help humans explore Mars.
On board a station set up in the Utah desert in the United States, they live in an environment with a quality of life similar to that found on Mars. As is the case with professional crews, each “Marsonaut” has an operational function: commander, astronomer, biologist - Greenhab officer, health and safety officer, etc.
The crew carries out experiments prepared more than one year in advance: measuring fine particles, studying the properties of the Martian electric field, testing extravehicular space suits, augmented reality glasses, analysis of behavior in confinement, the impact of hierarchy and relations of authority in stress situations.
