The doctoral school: a stimulating scientific environment
The doctoral schools offer students a stimulating scientific environment (involving universities, research labs, engineering schools, etc.) and the opportunity to engage in a high-level program driven by the latest knowledge in the field.
With their interdisciplinary approach, the doctoral schools foster acquisition of a broad scientific culture, along with training in ethics, scientific integrity and career development awareness. The doctoral programs also foster European and international openness.
6 doctoral schools and 7 common doctoral research teams
To ensure coherence and to provide sufficiently large research structures, ISAE-SUPAERO has agreements with its strategic partners to create common doctoral research teams. Research activities are led by two different units at ISAE-SUPAERO. The first one, ISAE-RECHERCHE, includes 6 doctoral teams commonly overseen by Onera (the French Aerospace Lab) thanks to special agreements. The second one, ICA, or the Institut Clément Ader, is overseen by UPS (Paul Sabatier Université), INSA (the National Institute of Applied Sciences), and Les Mines d’Albi (an engineering school).
Doctoral students are overseen by six different doctoral schools, in one of the seven ISAE SUPAERO doctoral research groups. The ED-AA, of which ISAE SUPAERO is the supporting institution, is a cross-disciplinary doctoral school dedicated to hosting interdisciplinary aerospace-related doctoral thesis projects.
