THE 2019 DESIA GRAND ORAL
Available online :
This final phase and showcase event of the DESIA training program included 6 teams of students who, after weeks of intensive training, presented a case study in company strategy (strategic diagnosis and recommendations) in front of two juries made up of industry professionals, consultants, recruiters and professors.
HIGH-LEVEL, INTENSIVE TRAINING
DESIA (Additional Training in Business Engineering) is a high-level, intensive training program in management and business engineering. In an extension of the engineering program at the end of the third year, the DESIA coordinating team trained some thirty students who wanted to acquire dual competence in engineering and management.
INDIVIDUAL GOALS AND COLLECTIVE PERFORMANCES
For two months, 31 students followed the training program combining individual objectives and collective performances. They received training in new fields outside the technical engineering framework of their engineering program. The goal was to obtain consistent technical expertise, solid management know-how and the appropriate soft skills.
The students took technical courses on the academic fundamentals in the fields of management, company finance, strategy, marketing and human resources, as well as seminars and coaching on the basics of soft skills.
The key strength of the DESIA program is an enhanced awareness of collective performances in relation to individual performances. Throughout the training program, each team received coaching to work on the team’s performances through the values put forward by each member. It is a tricky exercise as it requires a perfect level of mastery of analysis methods and tools, as well as group cohesion.
The following teams were randomly assigned an order of presentation:
- À la une
- High Five
- 6e Sens
- The Golden Peacocks
- Trott Team Net
- Los Lumos Cellulos
