Cédric Amiel, student of ISAE-SUPAERO SEN Advanced Master

HIS BACKGROUND

I’m Cédric Amiel, I am 23 years old, and I graduated from INSA Lyon in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Mechatronics.

I’m passionate about complex systems and my favorite topics of interests are control engineering as well as system modelling, which led me to do my 6 months internship in this domain.
However, I discovered that methodologies I’ve never heard of in my background were used in the industrial world. For me, it was the discovery of systems engineering.

WHAT DID THE ADVANCED MASTER BRING YOU?

The Advanced Master in Systems Engineering to fill this gap with knowledge that I felt in my internship.

Furthermore, I discovered that System Engineering was also a growing domain in the Engineering world that is tackling ambitious projects with efficiency and a brand-new approach.

For a young graduate, I think the Advanced Master in Systems Engineering (SEN) allows a continuity with the studies while offering the opportunity to practice new skills on various projects while being in contact with experts.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE AN ADVANCED MASTER AT ISAE-SUPAERO?

I thought it would be easier to do an Advanced Master right after my engineering school, than to work many years in the industry before starting this Advanced Master degree.

I also think that we need more and more to be differentiated between young graduate and Advanced Master seems to me as a great opportunity to both gain skills and a recognized competence.

ISAE-SUPAERO offers possibilities that I could not find anywhere else :

  • a first step in the aeronautical world
  • a systems-oriented Advanced Master’s degree that you can’t find anywhere else with this level of excellence
  • a recognition in the industry

HOW IS STUDENT LIFE ON THE CAMPUS AND IN TOULOUSE?

ISAE-SUPAERO campus is a really nice campus with a unique identity. I’ve never thought that I would be walking everyday across famous aircraft while studying. I also had the chance to study in the new building “Aérothèque” which made the experience very enjoyable. The off-center location of the campus is also a great thing to find quietness while being relatively close to downtown.
And overall life in Toulouse is really peaceful from my experience, people are enjoyable, the mood is easy going, weather is charming, it is a good place to live.

ABOUT THE SEN ADVANCED MASTER

The Advanced Master in “Systems Engineering” provides the international aerospace industry with skilled professionals equipped to specify, design, deploy and maintain complex systems. This training program develops a system approach with the capacity to federate and manage various, interwoven and complementary activities. It prepares systems engineers to work in various industrial sectors including space industry, aeronautics, air traffic control or ground transportation systems, etc.
