Available online :
Corentin Copet, student of the SEN Advanced Master tells us about his career path, and the main assets of the Advanced Master program.
HIS BACKGROUND
2024 – Advanced Master in Systems Engineering (SEN), ISAE-SUPAERO
2023 - Research internship at the VON KARMAN INSTITUTE FOR FLUID DYNAMICS (VKI) in Brussels (Belgium), in the department of Aeronautics and Aerospace under the supervision of Professor Magin
2023 – Graduated from “Engineering degree, Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering”, ELISA Aerospace (Groupe ISAE)
2019 – Graduated from “Higher National Diploma in Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering”, Université Clermont Auvergne
WHAT DID THE ADVANCED MASTER BRING YOU?
The Advanced Master in Systems Engineering at ISAE-SUPAERO is an incredible rewarding experience. It gave me an understanding of how to approach and manage complex systems throughout their lifecycle. For instance, I’ve gained a strong foundation in systems modeling, requirements engineering, project management and verification & validation.
Moreover, the program also highlighted the importance of soft skills. I’ve developed my communication and teamwork abilities, especially when working on projects.
My study project was to create a service that integrates water level monitoring, precise ocean meteorology and the prevention of future tsunamis. During the ITP, I have performed mission concept trade-offs, mission requirements and the analysis of spacecraft. This project enable me to apply the theoretical knowledge gained from courses to a real-world-like project and enhance my understanding of systems engineering principles.
Finally, the network I’ve built with my professors and industry professionals will be, I hope, an asset as I move forward in my career.
The Advanced Master in Systems Engineering at ISAE-SUPAERO provided me with an exceptional education from well-renowned experts
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE AN ADVANCED MASTER AT ISAE-SUPAERO?
My internship at VKI solidified my interest in systems engineering, particularly for aerospace applications. ISAE-SUPAERO’s program offers a deep dive into this field, allowing me to gain a holistic understanding of complex systems throughout their lifecycle. Moreover, the renowned school and strong industry connections of the program particularly appealed to me. I feel honored to have been a student at ISAE-SUPAERO, where I received an exceptional education from world-renowned experts.
Additionally, the program’s specialization options allowed me to focus my knowledge and skills within this specific domain. Now that I’m an aerospace engineer with a dual specialization in missile and space systems and systems engineering, I’ll be able to exploit these two areas of expertise synergistically in my professional life.
HOW IS STUDENT LIFE ON THE CAMPUS AND IN TOULOUSE?
The campus has modern facilities with well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, and library. It has a thriving student life with clubs and associations covering various interests – from sports, arts to technical clubs. I often participated in many events organized by the associations, where I was able to discuss and make friends with the other advanced masters students, it was quite fun!
What’s more, Toulouse is a really beautiful city known for its energetic atmosphere with a large student population. The city offers a ton of bars, restaurants where you can spend a lot of time with your friends beside of learning.
