A class gift to equip a new flight platform
Available online :
The SUPAERO graduating class of 1982, which celebrates its 35th year anniversary this year, is proud to organize the first classgift of the Institute. The goal is to collect a maximum of donations from former students in this graduating class to help purchase a new flight platform.
More specifically, the donations will help finance the equipping of a new bi-motor plane, the latest addition to the school’s fleet. This project answers clearly identified teaching and research requirements.
The goal is to provide a flexible platform at controlled cost, in order to experiment new MMI (Man-machine interface) concepts in flight including monitoring of the pilot, conduct of the flight, aircraft design and a remote crew (or drone mode).
The challenge is also to develop and improve student training in flight mechanics, test flights, aircraft design and human factors.
The classgift operation was launched in Paris in September 2016, at a SUPAERO Class of 1982 reunion organized by Fondation ISAE-SUPAERO.
22.000 euros in donations have already been collected from 24 graduates committed to offering the best to students and faculty from the Institute, while growing the visibility and international reputation of the school.
The fundraising shall continue in 2017 with help in particular from several students and sponsors of the classgift project, both 1982 graduates: Hervé Lecomte, President of Le conseil de surveillance du Stade Toulousain and Antenna Custom Manager at Airbus Defence and Space, and Thierry Pardessus, S82’ class delegate, Vice-President of Airbus Innovation Cell and Treasurer of Fondation ISAE-SUPAERO.
