Frequently asked questions

  • What are the prerequisites for applying to ISAE-SUPAERO’s Master program?

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent, in the following fields: mechanical engineering, mechatronics, aerospace, electronics, electrical systems, computer science, telecommunications, etc. or a French licence obtained in France in Sciences and Engineering.
Students holding a degree in mathematics or physics may also apply.

  • What is the admissions process to ISAE-SUPAERO Master’s programs?

The admissions committee reviews the applications submitted by the applicants on the application website. There are different application periods starting from October to March. Check the calendar here. The earlier you apply, the more chances you have to find spots available in the Master.

  • I completed my application online but I made a mistake or I need to add an extra document, what can I do ?

Please send an e-mail with the additional or corrected document to [admission-masters at isae-supaero.fr] and explain the issue.

  • Is there an interview in the admissions process?

No, there is no interview required, but it is possible to meet with the admission advisors or heads of program during the phase before application.

  • Which admission committee do I need to apply to?

Apply during the 1st session of admission to maximize your chances of acceptance. The MSc program gets full quickly after this first session.
It is recommended that the applicant apply long before the deadline to increase his or her chances of admission.

  • Do I need to wait to obtain my Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent French baccalaureate + 3) before applying to the master’s program?

No. You can apply during the final year of your Bachelor. In this case you must upload a Certificate of Attendance or Bonafide Certificate in lieu of the Diploma. You will be requested to present your degree at the beginning of the school year.

  • What should I include with my application?

- A copy of the diploma attesting the required level (except for students in their last year of studies - certificate of attendance at school)
- Transcripts of the last years of Bachelor studies
- A resume (CV or curriculum) in English (1 or 2 pages),
- A letter of motivation (1 page),
- An English test results (TOEFL IBT or TOEIC or IELTS or CAE Cambridge or Linguaskill) ,
- Application fees of €100
- 2 letters of recommendation sent directly by the professors through the system

  • What should I include in my letter of motivation?

First of all, please care about the layout of your letter. Check on the Internet to see the format of a letter of motivation. A professional layout has a header (who is writing and his contact details), a date, an object, an introduction, a body, a conclusion, salutations and signature. Be persuasive and concise. 1 page is perfect.
You address your letter to the ISAE-SUPAERO’s Admission committee.

You must explain why you are applying to the Master at ISAE-SUPAERO, what major(s) you may be interested in, precise why your previous academic/professional background, your extra-curricular activities and achivements match with the Master program and why this program is linked to your professional project according to your former studies.

  • What English tests are accepted by the ISAE admission committee?

TOEFL IBT, TOEIC, IELTS, CAE Cambridge, Linguaskill., attesting a B2+ level. The TOEFL and IELTS can be taken online.

  • I am a graduate from an English-speaking establishment, do I need to take the English test?

Yes, except for students holding a citizenship from: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States.

  • Who should I ask for the required letters of recommendation?

If you are still a student, at least one letter should come from a professor and/or one letter from a professional who trained you during an internship. If you are a professional, attach 2 letters written by executives or managers.

  • What transcripts must I include in my application?

Transcripts of the last 3 years of university (or 2 or 4 or 5 years..it depends of the lengh of your Bachelor studies)
Before the admission committee, students can keep sending us their latest received transcripts.

  • Does ISAE-SUPAERO offer scholarships?

Yes, application for Scholarships is only during the 1st application session : October & November. At the end of your application for the MSc online, you will have the possibility to apply for the scholarship by uploading a motivation letter for each scholarship.
Several scholarships are offered by ISAE-SUPAERO partners: see the Financing section.
Students can also check for more scholarships available with Campus France, their goverment etc.

  • How to apply for ISAE-SUPAERO excellence Scholarships ?

At the end of your application for the MSc online, in October & November only, you will have the possibility to apply for the scholarship by uploading a motivation letter for each scholarship.

  • How to maximize my chances of being accepted for a Schoalrship ?

The motivation letter for the scholarship must be different than the motivation letter for the Master. Each scholarship is also different. Learn about the provider of the Scholarship and try to find why you would be the right candidate. How this scholarship would be useful for your career project and for the company/School/Foundation providing it ?

  • Once I receive the notification of admission, how to register in the program ?

You are admitted ? Congrats ! Now, you have 3 weeks to confirm your admission and book your spot in the Master. To confirm your admission, a downpayment of 1000€, deducted from your total tuition fees, is required. This downpayment is not refunadble no matter the reason is. If you don’t register before the deadline anounced, your spot will be given to another admitted students during the next admission committees.

  • How is tuition paid?

A prepayment of a €1,000 (non-refundable) is due upon notification from the admissions committee to confirm your intention to enroll in the ISAE-SUPAERO Master of Science. This prepayment is deducted from the final Tuition Fees.
The balance must be paid by the first day of school, in September.
It is also possible to pay in 3 times between September and November.

  • Is there campus housing?

There are 6 students’ residences on campus which are in priority for our overseas students.
Please check Alteal Campus Residence.
To the room price, students will deduct around 80 to 150€ housing allowance provided by French government to Students in France. It is called CAF. Our Toul’Box system will help students to access this allowance.

  • Will I get some help to book my accomodation ?

Yes, Toul-Box service : It is a service ISAE-SUPAERO offers to International Master students (Free service for internationals). It helps students to book their accomodation on Campus, open a bank account at arrival, get a transport card, deal with the registration for the housing allowance (CAF), and other arrival formalities that students need to organize their arrival.
Once the student is registered, he will be asked if he wants to benefit from Toul’Box service or not and will receive all information about it to book his room during the month of June.

A whatsapp group is also organized for all pre-registered students from the time they register to be in contact with actual students and share information about the Campus and administrative paper work.

  • What budget should I foresee for one year of studies at ISAE-SUPAERO?

In addition to tuition, students should plan for a monthly budget of around €800 (housing, food, transportation, insurance, miscellaneous costs).

  • Can I benefit from a day-off to defend my Bachelor thesis after starting the Master at ISAE-SUPAERO

Some universities schedule Bachelor’ thesis defense after the ISAE-SUPAERO Master’ program starts. if you are in this situation, please contact us in advance so we can notify your absence.

  • Can I hope to find a student job during my 2 years of study at ISAE-SUAPERO?

It is hardly recommendable as it would be difficult to take classes, complete group projects, write reports and prepare for exams while holding a student job. But there is some opportunities. The Master program includes an in-company 4-6 month internship during the 4th semester. Students can expect to receive a minimum wage of 600€/month which can go over 1000€/month depending of the contract.

  • Will ISAE-SUPAERO help me to find an internship ?

Yes, the Career center is here to accompany students in their job/internship research. They organize CV and letter of motivation sessions, interviews with professionals, job fares, factory visits, conferences. Students has also access to Job Teaser a platform where all our industrial partners can share the job/internship opportunities.
