ISAE-SUPAERO 2022 annual report

ISAE-SUPAERO ANNUAL REPORT 2022 5 fter two years severely disrupted by the pandemic, 2022 was a year of return to normal operations for both our Institute and the airline industry. We were able to get through this difficult period by maintaining the quality of the experience promised to our students, thanks to our policy of ensuring “as much face-to-face learning as possible”. We have continued to prepare for the future by developing our Objectives and Performance Contract (COP) with our parent ministry and by implementing the “sustainable development” roadmap, which places us at the forefront of higher education. All this could only be achieved thanks to a remarkable investment by all the Institute’s teams. Thanks to this, our attractiveness has not wavered despite the civil aviation crisis, and we have emerged stronger - and now familiar with telecommuting! In 2022, our training activities remained dynamic, with continued attractiveness in competitive exams, more than 800 student recruits, 40% of whom are joining us from abroad, and the great success of the courses that went online at the end of 2021 on the international platform Coursera. The professional integration of our students has returned to pre-crisis levels. In terms of research, order intake again approached €10 million and activity has continued to grow. The launch of the Institute for Sustainable Aviation with initial funding from the Region, the progress of the Mermoz hydrogen drone project (which took its maiden flight in early 2023), and the dissemination of the Aviation-Climate Reference Guide (downloaded more than 10,000 times) are all illustrations of our commitment to the ecological transition of the aeronautical sector. “All this could only be achieved thanks to a remarkable investment by all the Institute’s teams.” 2022 will also have been rich in terms of innovation, the Institute’s third pillar, with the filing of 10 patents, the strengthening of the dedicated team, the possibility of finally opening our beautiful InnovSpace without health restrictions, and a strong growth in the number of startups hosted and supported. In this first year of the COP, we have developed and implemented a reorganization of the Institute, to take into account the great growth that the Institute has experienced in recent years and to adapt to our new objectives. We have enriched our teams with new skills, launched our study for a rapprochement with ENAC and strengthened our collaborations with the french MOD. Our campus has been embellished with the Marie Marvingt Library, and our oldest buildings have undergone a major energy retrofit - so many advances that demonstrate the commitment and quality of our teams! This commitment, along with the renewed support of our partners, makes me confident in our ability to achieve the ambition set out in our COP: to strengthen our position as an international leader in higher education in aerospace engineering by asserting ourselves as a major player in the transitions of the civil and military aerospace sector.
