ISAE-SUPAERO 2022 annual report

ISAE-SUPAERO ANNUAL REPORT 2022 3 ore than ever, ISAE-SUPAERO is at the heart of the changes to come. Climate challenge, energy transition, space exploration…but also defense of our values while a war of great intensity has developed at the very gates of the European Union. The sustainable development strategy initiated by the Institute several years ago is now showing its relevance. In 2022, the first year of the new Objectives and Performance Contract, the Institute has accelerated its transformation in its pillars of Research, Training and Innovation. The modernization of the campus continues at a rapid pace and, as an example, the Marie Marvingt Library, inaugurated in October, is a great success with students and lecturers. 2022 will also have seen an intensification of ISAE-SUPAERO’s relationship with ENAC around the many issues common to both schools. Indeed, Aeronautics and Space are part of tomorrow’s world, as demonstrated by the appetite of airlines for the latest generation of eco-efficient aircraft, the numerous projects for electric platforms, the unprecedented effort on hydrogen, the development of new launchers and new constellations, etc. and we are particularly proud at ISAE-SUPAERO to have trained a large part of the next generation of European astronauts. The Institute also plays an essential role in the training of future engineers in the field of Defense, guaranteeing our freedom in the years to come. The realization of these projects will be based on the knowledge acquired within the Institute. Achieving necessarily ambitious goals will also require leadership and we are proud to have been able to award for the first time in 2022, with the support of the ISAE-SUPAERO Foundation, the Jean Pierson prize, named for the former managing director of Airbus, to a student in recognition of her leadership qualities. Because ISAE-SUPAERO is above all a human adventure. Engage young people with “OSE l’ISAESUPAERO” in science, aeronautics and space in secondary schools throughout our territories. Encourage talent from diverse backgrounds, notably through grants, with the support of the Foundation and the Alumni Association, and through the development of an apprenticeship program for engineers. With the whole Board of Directors, we are proud of ISAE-SUPAERO’s teams, of its engineering students, of its PhD students, actors and citizens of tomorrow’s world. “We are proud of ISAE-SUPAERO’s teams, of its engineering students, of its PhD students, actors and citizens of tomorrow’s world.” M Editorial Charles Champion Chairman of the Board of Directors
