ISAE-SUPAERO 2022 annual report

29 ISAE-SUPAERO ANNUAL REPORT 2022 For more than 15 years, my research has aimed at improving our knowledge of the dynamic behavior of structures anddeveloping innovative solutions to control them. The control of resonances in structures is a major issue in terms of comfort and payload, but also for the improvement of aircraft performance induced by unstable phenomena such as aeroelastic flutter. I pay particular attention to doctoral training, with a large team of doctoral students who contribute strongly to national and international collaborations through various co-supervision schemes. In 2023, ISAE-SUPAERO will be highlighted by the organization of an international conference on the theme of vibro-acoustics, but also by the creation of a startup company aiming to commercialize a non-linear passive control device, which is both light, durable and efficient. DMSM Department of the Mechanics of Structures &Materials GuilhemMichon, Research Engineer inStructural Dynamics I am interested in performance and reliability analysis of networks and embedded systems, especially for aerospace and the factory of the future. In 2022, this theme was the subject of two research projects supported by ANR and the aeronautics and automotive industries, andof three theses, includingone in international collaborationwith EPFL in Switzerland. I have contributed to several scientific publications andprogramcommittees of international conferences in the field, especially around thenext-generation Time-SensitiveNetworking technology. This technology will undoubtedly be adopted in the medium term by manufacturers in all fields to ensure reliable real-time communications at the lowest cost. I am also involved in this topic within the training program, with the creation, nearly 7 years ago, of an “embedded systems” specialization within theMaster of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Engineerswho havecompleted this traininghaveaprofile that is highlyprizedby industry. DISC Department of Complex Systems Engineering AhlemMifdaoui, Lecturer-researcher in networks and embedded systems “ In 2022, innovation, the Institute’s third pillar, will take on a new dimension within ISAE-SUPAERO. My arrival as a permanent lecturer in charge of innovation and entrepreneurship is concrete proof of this. I was able to start using my dual experience as an entrepreneur (INCO, Impact Campus, Virvolt) and as a lecturer-researcher (PhD from ESCP Business School, lecturer at École Polytechnique, etc.) to design and run excellent training courses on these subjects by mobilizing inspiring speakers and cuttingedge partners like IoT Valley. Our students have a real appetite for innovation, as do the companies in our ecosystem that are looking to recruit committed, creative, autonomous engineerswith a “market” approach. Innovation is part of the Institute’s DNA and can be found in all departments: let’s allow the entrepreneurship / intrapreneurship virus circulate freely, forgetting in this field all barrier gestures! LACS Department of Languages, Arts, Cultures and Societies RomainBuquet, Innovation&Entrepreneurship lecturer “ Our pillars “
