CSDV doctoral research team– Control of Systems and Flight Dynamics

The doctoral research group, Control of Systems and Flight Dynamics (CSDV) is affiliated with the doctoral school, Systems (EDSYS). It includes researchers from ISAE-SUPAERO and Onera.

The CSDV team includes 50 researchers and 30 doctoral students. The team conducts research on the methods and tools for design and improvement of control and guidance of systems while contributing to a better grasp of the complexity and security of increasingly automated aerospace systems.

Its areas of expertise include :

  • automatics, artificial intelligence, flight mechanics, cognitive sciences : steering and guidance methods and tools (identification and control), control and decision making tools and methods (planning, decision making assistance), design and performances of aerospace systems (flight qualities), operations (autonomy, steering architectures and human factors) ;
  • experimental or industrial applications for vehicle systems and engines operated in aeronautics and space environments: aircraft and air transport systems, planes, helicopters, drones, orbital systems, planetary exploration robots, sub-marine robots, and surface buildings.

This research is conducted:

  • within the framework of national and European programs in partnership with Airbus, Astrium, Thalès Aliena Space, Cnes, ESA
  • within the framework of international collaborations with Nasa Ames, l’Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal, l’Université de Laval, L’IAE (Instituto de Aeronautica e Espaço) de San José dos Campos (Brazil).
