Doctoral Studies
The doctoral school manages the doctoral programme for all PhD candidates on the Toulouse campus. A wide range of courses is available for each doctoral student, who can thus build their own path according to their objectives during and after their thesis.
Our Assessment Methods
- No assessment of knowledge
- Doctoral thesis to be defended
- Obligation to follow additional courses according to the procedures chosen by each doctoral school
Thesis Defence
With regard to the procedure and rules for defending a thesis, the submission of the application and the defence take around 10-12 weeks. There are two important stages:
A first review by the doctoral school by the proposed rapporteurs
If the ED gives a favourable opinion, ISAE-SUPAERO appoints the rapporteurs and sends them the manuscript submitted by the doctoral student under ADUM. Depending on the doctoral school, this first examination is sometimes accompanied by an examination of the jury's compliance.
A second examination for a favourable opinion on the defence
A second examination where, in the light of the rapporteurs' reports and if the proposed jury is in agreement, the ED gives a favourable opinion on the defence and ISAE-SUPAERO convenes the jury.
