3 Reasons to Apply

  • Professional experience in and through research
  • A recognised laboratory with cutting-edge equipment
  • The opportunity to confront the limits of science

Our Admissions Procedure

Admission to the ISAE-SUPAERO doctoral training programme is decided by ISAE-SUPAERO on the basis of a proposal from the doctoral school after receiving the opinion of the thesis director and the director of the research unit.

Prerequisites

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Hold a national Master’s degree or another degree conferring the grade of Master. Applicants who have completed studies at an equivalent level or who have benefited from the validation of acquired experience may be enrolled in a doctoral programme.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for research acquired during prior studies or professional experience.

Our Application Procedure

The Registration Process

The registration and re-registration process is completed via ADUM.

To sum up:

  • Applicants must first register on ADUM, the internet portal for managing doctoral students
  • Fill in all the information concerning the thesis
  • Submit the required files

The Validation Process

The application file follows an online validation process, including confirmation from the thesis director, co-director, and laboratory director. It is then examined by the doctoral school within which the thesis is planned and by the ISAE-SUPAERO doctoral commission. The ISAE-SUPAERO doctoral committee authorises registration, based on a proposal from the doctoral school director.

Once the registration fees and the CVEC have been paid, newly registered students can collect their student card from the ISAE-SUPAERO doctoral department.

Documents to be Provided

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Academic grades (at least M1 and M2 level)
  • Letter of motivation
  • Letters of recommendation

Our Application Timetable

The academic year begins on 1 October and the ISAE-SUPAERO doctoral committee meets 2 or 3 times a year: mid-July, 2nd half of September and early November if necessary. During the year, applications are examined on an ad hoc basis.
The application file must be available on ADUM no later than ten days before the committee meeting.

Registration renewal

Registration is renewed at the beginning of each academic year by the head of the institution, on the recommendation of the doctoral school director, after consulting the thesis director and, from the third registration onwards, the doctoral student’s individual monitoring committee. Registration renewal is also done electronically via ADUM. The application must be signed by the thesis director (and co-director where one exists), by the director of the research unit in which the thesis is conducted, and by the doctoral school to which the student belongs. It must be submitted before September 15 for validation by ISAE-SUPAERO. A new registration is required for all doctoral students whose thesis defence is not scheduled before December 31.
