The EMS Advanced Master in Brief

A Multidisciplinary Approach

Embedded systems are an essential part of almost every aspect of our daily lives, from transportation (aeronautics, space, road, rail, and maritime) to energy and communication systems.

The EMS AM emphasises a multidisciplinary approach and prepares students with in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of the technologies underlying embedded systems, with a particular focus on aerospace.

The programme focuses on both theoretical and practical aspects. It covers hardware (electronics, energy), software (computing, network links, modelling, analysis, and certification) and issues such as the control of embedded systems from an integrated systems perspective.

At the heart of industry

As part of the AeroSpace Valley project, Toulouse has become a key centre for the design of advanced critical embedded systems.

Toulouse has one of the highest concentrations of embedded systems industries in Europe, with major aerospace and equipment manufacturers working for the aeronautics, space, and automotive industries, including the Airbus group and its subsidiaries, CNES, Continental, and Thalès.

Promising Career Prospects

The EMS AM leads to positions as:

🚀 Designers

📈 Developers

💡 Research Engineers

📊 Project managers in the design and development of innovative embedded systems

in the aeronautical, space, rail, maritime, energy, and communication systems sectors.

Programme Objectives

The EMS Advanced Master enables you to:

  • Tackle ambitious aerospace projects.
  • Develop skills in embedded systems design at both system and functional levels, based on a solid foundation of complementary subjects: electronics, computing, energy conversion and management, automatic control, and telecommunications and networks.
  • Develop a systemic approach through integrated projects in order to master specific methods and tools applied to the following fields: aeronautics, space, and the automotive industry.

Programme Advantages

Combining Theory and Practice

The EMS AM programme contains 40% courses or practical cases, on drones or cubesats, for example.

A Two-Part Educational Objective

The EMS AM is a hardware and software course focusing on systems.

Open to Industry

The programme offers a wide range of career opportunities in several industrial sectors.
