Simulation of Martian Life: Departure imminent to The Mars Desert Research Station

The newly elected 7 members of the team ISAE-SUPAERO have their boots ready to face up against a very unusual experience under the program Mars Society. The adventure begins on the 17 February and will last until the 11 Mars 2018.

The challenge will be to be confounded to a cylindrical confinement measuring 8m in diameter in the exceptional conditions of the American deserts of Utah, revealing the most similar conditions of Martian life.
Drawing their invaluable insights from their previous feat in the solitary deserts of Utah, Victoria and Louis will be at the helm of the affairs flanked by the new participants from the second year: Laurent, Jérémy, Benoit, Gabriel and Alexandre.

All long the mission, each participant will assume the role a professional team member, comprised of Onboard Engineer, Astronomer, Biologist, Greenhab Officer, Medical and health in-charge and a journalist.
They will be responsible for carrying out various experiences delegated by the Research Laboratories.
* Measurement of fine particles with a new generation device developed within the Laboratories of Physics and Chemistry of the Environment and the Space of the CNRS of Orléans.
* A study of the Electrical field properties of Mars by employing the instrument MicroAres deployed and adapted by Space Observations, Atmospheric laboratories at the Universities of Sorbonne.
* The test of Solar Panels dotted with a system of cleaning the very fine Martian dust.

In addition, the research laboratories of ISAE-SUPAERO that work on the Conception of Advanced Space Systems have provided 2 experiments on Human Behavior.
