ISAE-SUPAERO doubles its employment rate for people with disabilities

In five years, our Institute has increased its employment rate for people with disabilities from less than 3% to nearly 6%, a result that demonstrates a strong and lasting commitment to inclusion.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the FIPHFP (Fonds pour l’insertion des personnes handicapées dans la Fonction publique), our Institute has just renewed our agreement with the Fund. Our partnership, which began in 2021, is now bearing fruit thanks to financial and strategic support that has enabled us to double the employment rate of people with disabilities within our institution.

Structured governance for concrete results

This progress is based on a structured disability policy steered by dedicated governance, bringing together the human resources department, the medical-social team and a diversity and disability manager.

“We’ve noticed that employees are now more inclined to declare their disability situation in a relationship of trust,” stresses Arnaud Ancel, head of the human resources department. “Our objective is to exceed 6% in the coming years”.

This drive is underpinned by ongoing communication and awareness-raising campaigns aimed at all staff, fostering a culture of inclusiveness within the institution.

Apprenticeships, a key route to integration

Three of the 18 apprentices who joined our services in 2025 are disabled. The FIPHFP covers a significant part of their remuneration, thereby facilitating their integration into the workforce and enhancing the diversity of our teams.

In addition to recruitment, our establishment has developed personalised support for disabled employees and ongoing awareness-raising among managers, to ensure that they remain in employment under the best possible conditions.

Training tomorrow’s engineers for inclusion

ISAE-SUPAERO’s commitment is not limited to our responsibility as an employer. Our Institute also includes the issue of disability in the training of our students, future managers and decision-makers in the aerospace sector.

Handi-management training, an escape game on dyslexia, introductions to handisport: these are just some of the initiatives that punctuate the curriculum of our engineering students and raise their awareness of the challenges of inclusion in the workplace.

Personalised management is also in place to support our students with disabilities throughout their time at the Institut.

“As a public institution, we have a dual responsibility: to be an exemplary employer and to train engineers who are aware of the challenges of inclusion,” concludes Arnaud Ancel.”
