This research aims to advance flow control methodologies using state-of-the-art linear input/output analyses – in particular harmonic resolvent and mean resolvent analyses. By exploiting the singular value decomposition (SVD) of the resolvent operator, the study seeks to identify the most energetically significant forcing and response modes, thus providing a rigorous framework for the optimal positioning of actuators and sensors in open- and closed-loop control systems.
