More than 10,000 people have taken an introductory course in flight mechanics since the Aircraft MOOC went online.
The main principles involved in understanding how an aircraft flies are taught through 100% distance learning, consisting of:

- Filmed experiments
- Instrumented flights
- Tests for effective skills assessment
- Responsive tutoring by the teaching team
